A.W. Perry Homestead Museum Society

EVENTS

HELLO,

Supporters of the A.W. Perry Museum Sociey

The Centennial Quilt was dedicated at City Hall on February 16, 2010, before the City Council meeting. The diversity represented in the names that appear link the community together with each and every stitch. Signers ranged in age from 8 to 93. The Quilt stitches together Carrollton's rich history and vibrant future with signatures incorporated from descendants of some of its earliest settlers as well as some of its newest citizens. The funds raised by the Society were then put to use to support the Museum and its programs.

The City Council recognized the members for their contributions to the quilt at the City Council meeting.  The following is the schedule for when and where the quilt will be on display this year:

City Hall:              January 19 - March 1

JLR Library:         March 1 - April 19

Senior Center:     April 19 - June 1

H&J Library:        June 7 - August 2

We could not have completed this project without your help.  All of you are an important part of this project and we hope that you will be able to visit the quilt while it is on display.

 A.W. Perry Homestead Centennial Celebration

Saturday, September 26th

The A.W. Perry Museum celebrated the homestead's 100 years with tours, music, a petting zoo, crafts for kids, and birthday cupcakes.  Proclamations were read by Representative Burt Solomons and Mayor Ron Branson to commemorate the event.

It was a special day for the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum Society as it unveiled it's 2009 "Album Quilt" project  (see our 2009 Special Projects )
